It’s a given that weddings are a great time to go out and enjoy nature. I’ve only been to a few of the big city venues out there, but one that stands out is the beautiful new outdoor venue in New Orleans. Its location is perfect for those of you that just want to get away from it all, and for those of us that crave a bit of nature in our own backyard, this is the place for you.
It will be a gorgeous place to marry! Its the perfect place to enjoy nature, with views of Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Charles, so there will be plenty of water for you to jump in for an extended soak.
The venue is called The Greenhouse, and it will be located in the old City Park. It will also be beautiful, but the venue has been designed to withstand a hurricane. The greenhouses are made of stone and brick, and with good reason. They’re designed to withstand hurricane winds, and it’s going to be lovely inside with plenty of natural lights.
I’m not sure if the hurricane thing is true, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring your bride and groom to the beach for an outdoor wedding. Even if it is a beautiful outdoor wedding. I think it is an awful idea even if it is a beautiful outdoor wedding. For one, hurricanes happen a lot. And secondly, hurricanes suck at weddings.
The hurricanes that hit New Orleans in 2005-2009 were far from what youd expect. Hurricane Katrina, which struck in 2005, was the most destructive hurricane to hit the US since the great hurricane of 1833. It killed more people than any other hurricane in recent history, including the Category 4, 9 and 10 storms of 1928, 1932, and 1934.
That said, it is possible to do an outdoor wedding, and it can be done well. The key is the location. The more romantic the location, the better. But, as with almost any other sort of wedding, there is a price. And it can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to build it. If you can’t afford it, that’s fine too, but there are other ways to get your wedding out of the city and into the country.
That’s right, you can hire a professional wedding planner. Or go to a local church, and use a wedding coordinator. Or go to a private venue, like the ones at the Orleans Parish Library, the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, or the Orleans Hotel. The important thing is that you plan ahead. And you don’t want to have an accident or a serious injury while out in nature.
All of the wedding venues mentioned are in New Orleans. The Orleans Hotel was just completed in 2005 and the Orleans Parish Library is the newest addition to the Orleans Parish Family. In New Orleans, you can have almost any type of outdoor event including weddings, bar mitzvas, and potluck dinners, but you can also have an indoor event like a funeral or a birthday.
All of these wedding venues are only a few blocks from each other and many are within walking distance of each other with easy access to public transportation. But, you need to plan for the worst case scenario and if you don’t have a map, you can end up taking a detour.
