I think that the term niche journalism is a bit misleading and that the term “niche” is a bit of an over-used phrase. I think that niche is more about the kind of content people gravitate towards, and if you get caught up in that kind of content, you’ll be missing out on what is really going on in the world.
To me, niche is about the content that you put in the mix of so many other things that are popular. It is important to me that different people gravitate towards different kinds of niche content. For example, people gravitate towards video-based content and they also tend to gravitate towards non-video-based content, and vice versa. What I like about niche content is that its all about people.
As a journalist, I do what I can to help people. I’m able to help people by creating my own niche media by creating niche content and then I can help others by helping to make more niche content. I’m not trying to be a big name here, I’m just trying to help people because I’m a journalist. This is what I like to do.
The niche itself is important because it helps narrow down the universe of media you can work in to focus on. Another way to say that is that the niche itself is what you have to do to survive. As a journalist, I am going to have my niche content created so I can help people. With that said, I also know that if I am doing my niche journalism, I will be doing it with my own ego in mind.
I’ve never been comfortable with this “niching” phrase. There are so many different niches out there and most of them just feed off each other. I mean, if I were to only write about a small portion of the niche, I can’t think of how a site would start to get traffic. I would have to do a lot more work. I just can’t do it.
How is this different from the old times? I’m not 100% sure.
I don’t know if this is an acceptable nomenclature. I mean, you can write for everyone on this site, but I can’t say that I’m against it. But it’s also kinda cool to know that if a niche is a niche, then some people actually want to know how to make it easier for other people to know how to make it.
The whole reason this site was created in the first place is to provide a place where people like myself can talk about our hobby. We aren’t journalists or bloggers or anything like that, but we are writing about our hobbies to encourage others to start their own.
I say its cool to know that niche news sites exist and that they do. I also say that niche journalism is, in many ways, a great thing. We are all in this together. It’s a bit silly to say that niche journalism is an evil thing because it doesn’t seem like that at all. If you can write for everyone on this site, then I don’t see why you can’t also write for your niche. Like I said, it’s a bit silly.
I think niche journalism is definitely a good thing. It can bring out the best in us all. And it can also help us find ourselves. Because we all have different interests, we tend to have a different voice in our articles. If we all share a similar interest, then we can all have a voice in our articles and make our articles more interesting.
