The kellogg house wedding is one of my favorite DIY projects that I have done over the years. I love that it doesn’t involve a big budget, and because it is a DIY, it is affordable.
But what really makes this project unique, and one that really inspires me, is that it is so simple. There are so many amazing tutorials explaining how to do this, and not just with cement.
The kellogg house wedding is a great example of the “do it yourself” movement. Many DIY’ers are turning away from the big-budget, professional jobs that have become the norm because they simply aren’t as fun to do.
This house-wrecking hack is a simple, fun way to transform a small, cramped living room into a large, open-plan, loft-like space. Soak the floor of the space in water, and pour it through a wooden chute into the room. Then use a variety of different, inexpensive materials to dress up the space. The key is to make the space feel like a room, rather than a room with a bunch of stuff in it.
I’m not against DIY. I’m not against going into your own home and doing something that you know is awesome. I just think it’s worth remembering that it’s not always about the projects.
I totally agree. We all have our own reasons to do things that are awesome, and often we make mistakes because we’re just not aware enough to know what we really want, or because the space is not right for what we’re doing. Even if you do DIY your own home, you should probably have a few people watching you, and being aware of what is going on around you.
I think the wedding that Kellogg House put on has to be one of the most awesome ideas I have seen in a long time. I mean, to see this guy, his family, his friends, and his ex-wife and daughter all come together for one day. They sure had some fun.
Of course, the wedding was not really about the bride and groom. I mean, they did have a pretty fun time. But it was about the people in the house. I mean, the bride looked gorgeous, the groom was in his element, the guest list was a bit smaller than the wedding I attended a few months ago, and the party was a good time with all the music, dancing, and laughing (which, in my opinion, is the best part of any wedding).
On the other hand, it was a bit too long. It was almost as if they had a party for one day, and then they didn’t have time to give it a second thought.
In my opinion, the party was pretty awesome. The songs were awesome, the dancing was great, and the food was pretty awesome. And the wedding was awesome too. And I will say that while the wedding was long, I had a great time, and I certainly have no complaints about it.
